Israeli officials increasingly believe that the International Criminal Court is preparing to issue arrest warrants for senior government officials on charges of conflict with Hamas. The court is also allegedly considering arrest warrants for Hamas leaders.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to The New York Times.

The American publication received this information from five Israeli and foreign officials.

According to two of them, if the court continues an investigation into alleged war crimes in the Palestinian territories that began in 2021, Israeli officials could potentially be accused of obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and responding too harshly to the October 7 attacks by Hamas on Israel.

Israeli officials, concerned about the potential ramifications, believe Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is among those who could be named in the warrant.

Interlocutors of the publication said that they do not know at what stage the process is.
