Lithuania holds presidential elections and a referendum on the legalization of multiple citizenship

Thus, at 07:00, 1895 polling stations were opened throughout Lithuania. They will be open until 20:00.

Eight candidates are running for the presidency of Lithuania. Among them are the current leader Gitanas Nausėda, the Conservative nominee Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonite, the representative of the Freedom Party, former head of the Constitutional Court Dainius Žalimas, self-nominated Ignas Vegeli, the founder of the Niemen's Dawn party Remigijus Žemaitaitaitis, Gedrimas Jeglinskas from the Union of Democracies for the Name of Lithuania, and the head of the Labor Party Andrius Mazuronis.

The winner will be the candidate who receives more than 50% of the votes. If none of the candidates manages to win a majority, a second round of elections will be held in two weeks, in which the two candidates who received the most votes in the first round will take part. The one who wins an absolute majority in the second round will be declared the winner.
