This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Axios.

According to four Axios sources, Gov. Doug Burgum is quickly moving up Trump's list of possible vice presidential picks. The presidential candidate's team believes that Burgum can help win the support of so-called moderate voters.

The growing interest in Burgum has become noticeable in recent weeks, according to Axios. Trump began to frequently mention Burgum in discussions with his supporters, and also invited him and his wife to an Easter brunch at the Mar-a-Lago residence.

According to Axios sources, Trump likes Burgum's measured demeanor and his experience as governor. In addition, the presidential candidate considers Burgum reliable. Burgum, Axios notes, is similar to Mike Pence, who served as vice president during Trump's 2017–2021 presidency.

In addition, Burgum has openly supported Trump on many issues, including abortion rights. Burgum also “quietly” campaigns for Trump, in particular, speaking on conservative and mainstream TV channels.
