According to Blair, in early summer, the armored personnel carriers will be sent to Germany, where the Ukrainian military will get acquainted with them. After that, the soldiers will undergo training on the APCs.

"Ukrainians will be trained on the vehicles in the summer, and the vehicles will move to Ukraine in the fall. These vehicles are built by Canadian workers at General Dynamics Land Systems," said the Canadian Defense Minister.

Despite the fact that the vehicles will be in Germany in early summer, they will arrive in Ukraine no earlier than this fall. These will be the first 10 APCs out of 50, $650 million for which Canada allocated in September 2023. The last batch of these armored personnel carriers is to be delivered to Ukraine in 2027.

The LAV 6.0 ACSV is a modern wheeled armored vehicle with an 8x8 layout. It was developed and subsequently modernized on the modernized base of the LAV 3 APC.

The armored personnel carrier is designed to transport troops/cargo, ambulances, command posts, engineers, electronic warfare, technical recovery and mobile repair teams.

After the modernization, the vehicle received an improved level of protection and is now able to withstand 14.5 caliber machine gun bullets from all sides.
