It is reported that in 2022, 83 explosions were recorded, killing 55 people and injuring 10,647 others. Last year, according to the Russian Emergencies Ministry, residential buildings, warehouses, and mines exploded. The explosions on the Crimean Bridge were also included in the statistics.

The most common cause of explosions in 2022 was the detonation of an explosive object. Explosions caused by explosive devices accounted for 55 cases.

Over the past ten years, the number of explosions in Russia has reportedly not exceeded 20 annually, and the number of victims has been in the hundreds, not thousands.

As a reminder, yesterday, August 9, an explosion occurred at the Zagorsky Optical and Mechanical Plant in the Moscow region. After a while, the network began to report dozens of injured people. The plant produced surveillance devices for law enforcement agencies and industry.

According to the Russians, the incident was caused by a human factor, and the explosion occurred on the plant's territory, where "there was a warehouse with pyrotechnics."
