After his "peace tour," Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban wrote a letter to European Council President Charles Michel, in which he proposes to restore diplomatic relations with Russia.
According to Yevropeiska Pravda, the German newspaper Bild obtained access to Orban's letter.
In the letter, Orban provides a "brief assessment" of his recent talks with the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, China, Turkey, and Donald Trump, as well as "some proposals for your consideration."
Regarding Russia's war against Ukraine, the Hungarian prime minister wrote the following: "In general, we can state that the intensity of the military conflict will radically increase in the near future."
In his letter, Orbán calls for negotiations with China on a "peace conference," the restoration of diplomatic relations with Russia, and a "political offensive" against the countries of the Global South, whose "respect we have lost because of our position on the war in Ukraine."
The Hungarian prime minister also writes about his talks with Trump and criticizes current President Joe Biden, who, according to Orban, "is unable to change the current pro-war policy of the United States, and therefore cannot be expected to start a new policy."
At the same time, the Hungarian prime minister praises Trump and expresses confidence that after winning the election, he "will not wait for his inauguration, but will be ready to act immediately as a peace mediator."
"He has detailed and well-founded plans for this," Orban said.
