The head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov commented on the threat of an invasion in northern Ukraine, given the Kremlin's desire to mobilize another 300,000 Russians.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to his comments in an interview with NV.
"If I start answering this question (about Russia's attack from the north - ed.), we will provoke panic. Let's just say that there are problems, they tend to get worse," he said, adding that "there is no catastrophe, but it will not be possible not to see the problems."
This answer followed a journalist's question about whether the Kremlin's plans to mobilize 300,000 Russians would affect the occupiers' offensive in the east and north in the coming months.
"You know, this is a bit of an anecdotal situation for me. Because when everyone was shouting for two years that there would be an attack from the north, we told everyone that it would not happen. Nothing happened. The moment we said that there would be an attack from the north, everyone immediately said, "Maybe not?" - Budanov said.-
At the same time, the head of the DIU did not specify which directions in the north he was talking about.
"I have already told someone from the Western press: I will not have much good news this year, unfortunately," Budanov stated.-
