The House Select Committee on China has admitted that Russian battlefield technologies that disable certain U.S. weapons systems "could likely reach" China. For example, Russian means of countering American precision-guided munitions.
"We must anticipate and indeed act on the assumption that Russia is sharing information with China about vulnerabilities or countermeasures to U.S. and allied weapons systems," wrote committee chairman John Mullen and ranking Democrat Raja Krishnamoorthy in a letter.
The congressmen cite media and think tank reports of Chinese support for Russia's military industry and "an alarming level of Russian adaptation" that has undermined the effectiveness of several unnamed U.S. weapons systems.
They asked Sullivan to assess Russia's ability to counter U.S. weapons deployed in Ukraine and the extent to which Moscow has shared "lessons learned" with China.
They also asked for an assessment of any Chinese military efforts to counter Russian military innovations.
