Denmark has suspended four years of military cooperation with Georgia, the budget of which amounted to approximately 71.5 million Danish kroner (almost 10 million euros).
This became known from a letter from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was sent to opposition MP Theona Akubardia in response to her question, Georgia Online reports.
As noted in the letter, in accordance with the decision of the Council of the European Union in June 2024, as well as after the termination of assistance to Georgia from the EU Peace Fund, Denmark decided to consider a full review of bilateral assistance to the Georgian government.
As noted in the letter, while the review is ongoing, Denmark will suspend planned activities and new programmatic support to the Government of Georgia.
“Denmark calls on the Georgian government to return to the Euro-Atlantic path and to adhere to the EU reform agenda, which is the basis of the strong bilateral ties between Denmark and Georgia,” the Danish Foreign Ministry said in a letter.
