EU ready to provide assistance after Kakhovka HPP explosion

The European Union has expressed its readiness to assist in mitigating the consequences of the Russian explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, which led to flooding and mass evacuation of people.

This was announced by Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba after a conversation with top EU diplomat Josep Borrell.

The head of the Ukrainian diplomacy wrote on Twitter that he told Borrell "how Russia blew up the Kakhovka dam and what consequences it has for people and the environment."

"The EU is ready to provide the necessary support and humanitarian assistance to mitigate the consequences of this disaster caused by Russia," he added.
