During a visit to Chisinau on Thursday, August 1, Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurinas Kasciunas announced the transfer of drones and night vision devices to Moldova.
This is reported by NewsMaker.
According to Kasciunas at a press conference, he informed his Moldovan counterpart Anatolij Nosaty that Lithuania would transfer night vision thermal imaging devices made in Lithuania and drones to Moldova.
"We also have very good manufacturers in this regard. We believe they will be useful for Moldova," he said, adding that the drones could be delivered by the end of the year.
The Lithuanian defense minister refused to answer how many weapons Moldova will receive and what are the conditions of their transfer.
"In the defense sector, there is a term that best answers this question, the term 'strategic uncertainty'. This does not necessarily mean that we need to talk in very specific terms or in very specific figures about the number of weapons," Kasciunas said.
