Jul 30, 2023

American businessman Elon Musk refused a request from the Ukrainian Armed Forces to turn on Starlink in Crimea.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine concerning The New York Times.

The publication notes that Starlink is often the only way to access the Internet in war zones, remote areas, and places affected by natural disasters.

According to sources familiar with the situation, Musk has repeatedly restricted access to Starlink during military operations.

"At one point, he refused the Ukrainian military's request to turn on Starlink in the Crimea, which affected the strategy of warfare," the article says.
