According to Ukrinform, this was reported in a press release by UN Women.

It is noted that as of March 1, 2024, about 9,000 women have been killed in the Gaza Strip.

The organization suggests that this figure is much higher, as many more women are reported to have died under the rubble of destroyed buildings.

"Every day, about 37 mothers die, leaving their families devastated and their children defenseless," the press release said.

According to the organization's forecasts, an average of 63 women will die every day from the fighting in Gaza if the current pace of the war continues.

UN Women also drew attention to the humanitarian crisis, noting that the entire population of Gaza will face the highest food shortage in the history of observations in a few weeks.

84% of women in Gaza say that their families eat half as much or less food than before the war between Israel and Hamas. The same number of women reported that at least one family member had to skip a meal in the past week, while in 95% of cases, mothers refuse to eat to feed their children.

In addition, 9 out of 10 women (87%) find it more difficult to access food than men. Some women are looking for food under the rubble of buildings or in garbage containers, the organization noted.
