One of Croatia's largest airports suffers a cyber attack

Split International Airport in Croatia has been the target of a cyberattack, forcing it to cancel or delay a number of flights.

This was reported by AFP.

The IT system of Split Airport experienced technical difficulties on Monday, July 22, at about 19:30 local time. This led to the cancellation and delay of an undetermined number of flights, and passengers were forced to spend the night at the airport.

Croatian Transport Minister Oleg Butkovic told reporters on Tuesday that the airport was the target of a cyberattack, its IT system is still being restored, and staff are managing the airport manually.

Butkovic said that the hackers behind the attack called for negotiations, but the Croatian authorities refused to meet their demands.
