On July 15, the Moldovan Border Police detained a man involved in organizing a scheme for the illegal migration of Ukrainian citizens to the EU.
This was reported by the press service of the agency, Yevropeiska Pravda reports.
The detention took place on July 8. The man, together with a group of people, including citizens of Ukraine and Moldova, created a criminal scheme within which they "carried out cross-border criminal activities for a monetary reward."
The investigation established that during June 20-21, 15 Ukrainian migrants were helped to illegally cross the border in a refrigerated truck for a reward of $8000 each.
The detainee later took five people in his personal car and transported them to Chisinau.
