Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro said at the NATO summit in Washington that Lisbon plans to increase the amount of military aid to Ukraine this year to 220 million euros.
According to Yevropeiska Pravda, the press service of the Portuguese government reports.
According to the prime minister, the government will add €95 million to the €126 million in military aid already planned for this year.
Montenegro added that the same amount will be allocated in 2025.
He reiterated the commitment to bring defense spending in the country's budget to 2% of gross domestic product in 2029.
"This is also a significant financial contribution to the international coalition around military, humanitarian, political and economic support for Ukraine," the prime minister said.
