Estonian President Alar Karis has appointed a new government headed by Kristen Mihal after he received a mandate from the parliament.
This was reported by ERR.
The government will begin its work on Tuesday after taking the oath in the Estonian Parliament (Riigikogu).
Mihal will replace Kaija Kallas as prime minister, but the three-party coalition of the Reform Party, Social Democrats, and Estonia 200 continues to be in power.
Earlier on Monday, the Estonian parliament voted at an extraordinary session to grant prime ministerial candidate Kristen Mihal, who served as climate minister, the authority to form a government.
The ministries of foreign affairs and defense, which are important for Ukraine, will not change: the current heads of the departments, Margus Tsakhkna and Hanno Pevkur, will retain their positions.
