Jul 17, 2023

The Kremlin has refused to extend the "grain deal," which expires today, July 17.

This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian dictator Dmitry Peskov, TASS reports.

"The agreements on the grain deal have actually been terminated, it has been stopped," Peskov told Russian propaganda media.

According to him, Russia will allegedly immediately return to the grain deal, but only if its "agreements are fulfilled."

According to pro-Kremlin media outlets, Peskov also gave a negative answer to the question of whether the explosion on the Crimean bridge could affect the grain deal.

Later, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Russia had allegedly "officially notified Turkey and Ukraine of its objections to the extension of the grain deal."

It is worth noting that Ukraine does not conduct direct negotiations with Russia under this agreement. The Ukrainian side is discussing the issue with Turkey and the UN, and the latter, in turn, are holding separate talks with Russia.
