German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has spoken about the need to tighten control over illegal migration and suggested the possibility of introducing additional measures.
He said this at a rally of the Social Democratic Party of Germany in Nuremberg, Welt reports.
Given the situation at the borders, Scholz wants clarification on possible violations in the issuance of visas in neighboring Poland.
"I don't want people to be allowed to leave Poland and then discuss our asylum policy," the chancellor said.
According to him, it is necessary to make sure "that those who come to Poland register there and go through the asylum procedure there."
Scholz added that, depending on the current situation, "further measures may have to be taken at the borders, for example, at this border."
