Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani said that the conclusion of a hostage deal between Israel and Hamas depends only on "minor" practical issues.
He said this at a joint press conference with EU High Representative Josep Borrell in Doha, Ukrinform reports citing Politico.
"The problems with reaching an agreement are purely practical and logistical," the Qatari Prime Minister said.
According to him, the negotiations "have had ups and downs over the past few weeks," but now he is "confident that we are close enough to reach an agreement that will help bring people home safely."
Qatar mediated the negotiations that resulted in the release of two US citizens and two elderly Israeli women by Hamas in October.
