The exercises will begin on September 18 on Bornholm Island in the Baltic Sea, Ukrinform reports, citing the website of the US 6th Fleet.

The SM-6 missile system has the ability to intercept airborne threats, including ballistic missiles in the final phase of flight. The dual-purpose missile design provides high-precision engagement of both stationary land and moving sea targets.

The containerized configuration of the SM-6 launcher increases the operational flexibility of the US Navy, facilitating rapid deployment and use in various theaters of war, thereby underscoring the United States' commitment to ensuring the security interests of its own and allies' interests, the statement said.

"By conducting these operations from Denmark, the United States reaffirms Denmark's strategic importance as a key ally in ensuring regional stability," the US 6th Fleet emphasized.
