The leader of the far-right Slovak National Party (SNS), which is part of the government coalition, and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Andrej Danko has announced plans to travel to Russia.
This was reported by Aktuality.
Danko said that he had received an “invitation” to visit Russia (without specifying from whom), saying that he wanted to follow Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
“I have an invitation for any date I choose, but basically I will go there because if these evil Russians, as you say, cut off our oil, even tears will not help,” he said.
Danko justified his trip to Russia by the recent suspension by Ukraine of Lukoil's oil supplies to Slovakia and Hungary. According to the SNS leader, this decision was made by Volodymyr Zelenskyy “out of spite.”
