Speakers of Ukraine and Hungary met for the first time in 14 years

Feb 29, 2024

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, during a conversation with the Acting Chairman of the State Assembly of Hungary Czaba Gende, emphasized that the parliaments of the countries should play a leading role in the Ukrainian-Hungarian dialogue.

As reported by Ukrinform, Stefanchuk announced this on Facebook.

"This is the first meeting between the speakers of the parliaments of our countries in the last 14 years. I am convinced that our parliaments can and should play a leading role in the Ukrainian-Hungarian dialogue," Stefanchuk said.

According to him, Ukraine is interested in developing friendly and good-neighborly relations with Hungary.

"He emphasized that supporting Ukraine is the best way to help stop the war and restore security in the region and on the European continent in general. He thanked Hungary for sheltering Ukrainians and humanitarian support for Ukraine," Stefanchuk emphasized.

He noted that the involvement of Hungary in the practical implementation of the Peace Formula will contribute to the consolidation of relevant international efforts and the end of the war. He called on the parliament to support the initiative.

"It is important that Hungary supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. And this was said by a colleague during our meeting. As well as the fact that Chaba Gende is open to further cooperation! I sincerely believe that we have begun the restoration of the parliamentary track of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Hungary," Stefanchuk emphasized.

Hungary openly supports the murderer Putin - and then there is a friendly meeting with the Ukrainian speaker. International politics is a complicated thing, but something is wrong here.
