Switzerland has launched an investigation into more than 50 cases of possible violations of sanctions against Russia and has already found violations in 15 of them.
This was reported to Reuters by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
The agency noted that the effective implementation of sanctions is a priority for the government and that 56 proceedings have been opened to date on their violations.
About half of them have been closed, and fines have been imposed in 15 cases. The rest remain under investigation, the report says.
At the same time, SECO did not name the sectors or individual companies under investigation.
This year, Switzerland announced that it had set up a team of experts to investigate and enforce the sanctions imposed by Bern after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
