The NATO-Ukraine Council (NUC), which is a key body for Ukraine's cooperation with the Alliance, has adopted a decision following a high-level meeting held before the NATO summit.
This was reported from Washington by a correspondent of Yevropeiska Pravda.
In the NUC statement, the Allies reiterated that Ukraine's future lies in NATO, and emphasized that Ukraine is "becoming increasingly interoperable and politically integrated into the Alliance."
The Alliance reaffirmed its commitment to support Ukraine in its transition to full interoperability with NATO. In particular, the Alliance will "develop requirements for interoperability with NATO" and "support Ukraine's defense and security sector reform and long-term interoperability of the armed forces" of Ukraine and Allies.
Ukraine will also receive assistance to bring Ukraine's defense procurement in line with Euro-Atlantic best practices.
"NATO will continue to support Ukraine's self-defense by providing urgently needed non-lethal equipment and supplies through the CAP, and we welcome contributions from partners," the decision also says.
