The visit of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to North Korea (DPRK) is connected with Moscow's desperate attempts to find allies and support in the war against Ukraine.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine concerning a statement by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
Thus, answering a journalist's question about Shoigu's visit to the DPRK, the US Secretary of State noted that this is not a vacation for the Russian minister. In particular, in his opinion, Shoigu could have gone to Pyongyang to ask for weapons for the Russian army.
"We see that Russia is desperately looking for support, weapons, wherever it can find them, to continue its aggression against Ukraine. And we see it in North Korea. We also see it in Iran, which has provided Russia with many drones that it is using to destroy civilian infrastructure and kill civilians in Ukraine," Blinken said.
