The new aid package for Ukraine from the USA included:

  • four NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems and ammunition;
  • 152-mm artillery shells; demining equipment;
  • missiles with optical guidance (TOW);
  • unmanned aerial vehicles Phoenix Ghost and Switchblade;
  • high-precision aviation ammunition;
  • means of combating drones and detecting means of radio-electronic warfare;
  • 150 fuel tankers;
  • 115 tactical vehicles for towing and transporting equipment;
  • 50 tactical vehicles for equipment recovery;
  • equipment for ensuring the security of ports and harbors;
  • tactical systems of secure communication.

We will remind, back in July, the USA announced the transfer of 8 NASAMS to Ukraine. Towards the end of the year, two of these air defense systems were delivered.

The main tactical unit of NASAMS is the battery. It consists of three fire platoons (a total set of 54 missiles), united in an information network in such a way that each of the three radar stations can replace all others.

The battery command post (located at one of the fire control points) can receive target guidance from higher headquarters and issue air situation data to the platoon fire control points. Moreover, all 54 missiles can be fired at different targets within 12 seconds.
