Former US President and presidential candidate Donald Trump has filed an appeal against a ruling against him in a civil fraud case in New York, which has jeopardized his business.
This was reported by Politico, according to Yevropeiska Pravda.
On Monday, July 22, Trump's lawyers filed an appeal, demanding that the requirement for Donald Trump to pay $454 million be canceled.
As a reminder, this is a case in which Trump was found guilty of fraudulently overstating his wealth by billions of dollars in order to secure better credit and insurance terms.
This amount remains a serious threat to Trump, despite the fact that he was initially allowed to pay only a part of it.
Trump's lawyers are going to argue that Judge Engoron's decision was wrong and he did not understand the details, and that no bank or insurance company suffered.
Although the former president is involved in many cases, this verdict is a particular threat to him, as Trump admitted that he did not have the amount he was ordered to pay.
The Court of Appeals has scheduled an oral argument hearing for early September, and it is unclear whether they will be able to issue a decision before the presidential election in November.
