The U.S. Secret Service has stepped up security measures for former President Donald Trump after an attempted assassination attempt on him during a rally on Saturday, July 13.
According to Yevropeiska Pravda, this was stated by the head of the US Secret Service, Kimberly Cheadle.
The official noted that the assassination attempt on Trump raised the question of whether there would be any changes to security measures at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, which begins on Monday. She assured him that security plans for events of this caliber are based on the latest intelligence and can change depending on the situation.
"I am confident in the security plan that our coordinator for this event and our partners have developed, and we have reviewed and strengthened it in the wake of the shooting on Saturday. Security plans for events like this, which require special security measures, are designed to be flexible," Cheadle emphasized.
She also detailed that enhanced security measures were planned in advance for Donald Trump personally.
