A Turkish delegation of eight MPs headed by former Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Denmez said this during a visit to Kyiv to participate in the 62nd meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), Ukrinform reports, citing information provided by the Turkish Embassy in Ukraine.

"Turkey will continue its unwavering support for Ukraine, as well as make every diplomatic effort for a sustainable peace based on the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea. Among these efforts is the resumption of the Black Sea Initiative, which is of strategic importance for regional stability and global food security," reads the opening statement by Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.

In his speech, the head of the Turkish delegation to the PABSEC, Fatih Denmez, noted that, given the current security conditions created by the war, Turkey's policy has so far managed to avoid destabilizing the Black Sea region.

"Turkey, realizing its regional role, intends to continue initiatives aimed at preventing the escalation of tensions in the Black Sea," he said.
