The United Kingdom intends to appeal to several European countries with a call for action against the so-called shadow fleet of oil tankers that Russia uses to circumvent international sanctions.
RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to Bloomberg.
According to the publication, several governments are planning to approve the action plan during a meeting of the European Political Community to be held on Thursday in the UK.
In particular, it is planned to exchange information about the Russian fleet, as well as “coordinate responses to the risks posed by its ships and proxies, and work with the private sector and other maritime stakeholders to address the threat.”
Countries are trying to make it even harder for Russia to make money from its oil resources. The sanctions are intended to make Russia a pariah in traditional oil transportation markets and cut off access to key tankers and service providers.
