In particular, over 1,500 sets of both vehicle-mounted and ‘on-the-person’ mine clearing and explosive ordnance disposal equipment, including necessary training were supplied.

In addition, the Royal Engineer Corps' deminers trained Ukrainian military personnel in the disposal of mines, ammunition, and other explosive devices used in Ukraine, which are currently one of the main threats to the safety of the country's civilian population.

This detailed and specialized package teaches Ukrainians ammunition recognition, disposal techniques, and search procedures to deal with improvised explosive devices, mines, booby traps, and deflectors.

The training includes briefings on the threat, planning of mine clearance operations, and practical exercises to clear not only large areas but also trench systems, bunkers, and civilian buildings. During the final certification, search teams with an assigned commander comb a difficult area.

The soldiers use metal detectors and mine removal kits and are taught how to adapt the equipment available on the front line. They have also been trained with equipment provided by the UK, including VALLON detectors.
