This was stated by Pentagon spokesman General Patrick Ryder, RBC-Ukraine reports citing his briefing.

The representative of the US Department of Defense noted that the United States has already supplied Ukraine with more than 2 million 155 mm shells since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.

"We have also allowed the production of 155 mm ammunition to increase rapidly. So, from 14,000 per month in February 2022 to about 24,000 per month now, and we plan to reach over 80,000 per month over the next year," - Ryder said.

According to the Pentagon spokesman, although such stockpiles are not unlimited and they are used up quickly, the US side continues to "work closely with allies and partners around the world on this front."

Answering journalists' questions about the use of cluster munitions provided by the United States by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, Ryder said that there was evidence that such weapons were being used against military facilities and targets.

"We have every indication that they are using these weapons on the battlefield in the proper way. But beyond anything they need, we will continue to work closely to make sure they have everything they need to continue the fight and take back sovereign territory," he said.
