The U.S. Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on five individuals and seven legal entities from Iran, China, and Hong Kong involved in the development of the Iranian Ministry of Defense's missile and drone program.
The US Treasury announced this on Tuesday, July 30.
The people and companies targeted by the latest US sanctions were involved in the purchase of accelerometers and gyroscopes used for guidance, navigation, and control systems in Iran's ballistic missile and drone programs.
Among them are the Chinese shell company Beijing Shiny Nights Technology Development Company and the Iranian company Electro Optic Sairan Industries.
“Iran's reckless proliferation of its ballistic missiles and UAVs threatens further instability and endangers civilian lives in the region and around the world,” commented U.S. Deputy Treasury Secretary Brian Nelson.
