The US State Department has promised to monitor Russia's actions amid new threats from the Kremlin to deploy nuclear missiles.
According to Yevropeiska Pravda, this was stated during a briefing by Deputy State Department spokesman Vedant Patel.
He was commenting on recent statements by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, who did not rule out the deployment of missiles, including nuclear weapons, in response to the deployment of long-range US weapons in Germany.
“Certainly, any rhetoric about the use or deployment of nuclear warheads is a concern and something we will continue to monitor,” Patel said.
He reminded that the Russian side has frequently made nuclear threats since its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
“So I just don't want to speculate. But of course, we continue to monitor the situation closely,” the State Department official added.-
