The U.S. Department of State has approved the sale of AGM-114R2 Hellfire missiles and related equipment to France for an estimated cost of $203 million.
According to Yevropeiska Pravda, this was reported by the US Defense Cooperation and Security Agency.
It is noted that this decision was made after the French government requested to purchase 1515 AGM-114R2 Hellfire missiles. The main contractor will be Lockheed Martin Corporation.
Along with the missiles, Paris is to receive technical assistance, documentation, integration assistance, and logistics services for their use.
"This will improve France's ability to confront current and future threats by building long-term defense capabilities to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity," the ministry said in a statement.
