The deteriorating health of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov may be due to poisoning. His death is likely to affect the situation in the Caucasus.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, during a telethon.

"It is a well-known fact that Kadyrov has health problems. Moreover, there is an assumption that it was poisoning, and repeated poisoning, which caused certain complications in the kidney system. As far as we understand, the video that is available may be a very old video that has nothing to do with today," Danilov said.

According to the NSDC secretary, the hunt for Kadyrov is a well-known struggle of groups within the Kremlin. His death could affect the position of one of these groups.

"They (the Kremlin towers - ed.) are constantly figuring out their relations with each other... As for the Caucasus, certain processes may begin there, which indicate that the power in Russia is extremely fragile," Danilov predicted.

He noted that the situation in Russia is extremely fragile now and the reason for this is not only Kadyrov's poor health.
