The attempted assassination of former US President Donald Trump, which took place yesterday, July 13, is unlikely to affect the ratings and the distribution of forces in the presidential election.
This was stated by political analyst Volodymyr Fesenko in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine.
"This is unlikely to affect the undecided voters. They are the ones who will decide the fate of the elections, who will win them. But the degree of consolidation of Trump's supporters is what could work," Fesenko said.
He also warned that versions of the assassination attempt staging may appear, which, in particular, may be promoted by people who do not accept Trump.
"This is also one of the political technologies. If you want to influence the election, you can fake an assassination attempt, demonstrate that your leader is under threat, he needs protection, his enemies want to destroy him. This can be an election campaign tool. Therefore, this version will definitely be present," the political scientist said.-
