President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has commented on US President Joe Biden's refusal to seek re-election to the presidency.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the president's page on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
In his post, Zelenskyy wrote that Ukraine is grateful to Biden for his unwavering support for Ukraine's fight for freedom, which, along with strong and bipartisan support in the United States, has been and remains critical.
The Ukrainian President noted that many strong decisions have been made in recent years and they will be remembered as bold steps taken by President Biden in response to difficult times.
“And we respect today's difficult but strong decision. We will always be grateful for President Biden's leadership,” the statement said.
Zelenskyy emphasized that Biden supported Ukraine at the most dramatic moment, helped prevent Putin's occupation of the country and “continued to support us throughout the terrible war.”
At the end of the post, the president added that the current situation in Ukraine and throughout Europe is no less difficult, and “we sincerely hope” that the continued strong U.S. leadership will not allow Russian evil to succeed or make its aggression pay off.
