The Ukrainian leader, who will be the first official visitor to Downing Street during the tenure of Prime Minister Keir Starmer, is expected to meet with the new Cabinet and brief them on the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine, as well as the need to strengthen Europe's defense industrial base to stay ahead of the Russian threat.
The last foreign leader to personally address the (British - ed.) Cabinet of Ministers was President (US - ed.) Clinton in 1997.
The leaders of the two countries are expected to sign a defense export support agreement, which will be signed by the defense ministers, to launch defense industrial bases in the UK and Ukraine and increase the production of military equipment and weapons.
The agreement will allow Ukraine to attract 3.5 billion pounds of export financing to support its armed forces.
It will also allow Ukrainian and British defense companies to invest in further development of military capabilities and continue to rapidly innovate in the field of advanced military equipment.
