President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he discussed with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg the issue of strengthening Ukraine's air defense before winter.
He said this at a press conference with the secretary general, who arrived on a visit to Kyiv, Yevropeiska Pravda reports.
Zelenskyy said that he had discussed key defense issues, the situation on the battlefield, and the needs of Ukrainian soldiers with the Secretary-General.
According to the head of state, it is necessary to put pressure on the aggressor so that Russia retreats.
"It is necessary to strengthen the air shield of Ukraine. We discussed the situation in connection with the expected attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure," the President said and added that he had asked for an increase in the supply of air defense systems by partner states.
According to him, the NATO Secretary General promised to make efforts to increase such supplies.
"We need to get through this winter together, to protect the infrastructure and the lives of our people," he said.
