The plane of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy landed in Ireland on his way back from the United States. There, he met with Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the RTÉ TV channel.
It is noted that the plane of the President of Ukraine landed at Shannon International Airport in Ireland on the way from the United States, where Zelenskyy took part in the NATO summit and held a number of meetings.
At the airport, Zelenskyy was met by Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris and Ukrainian Ambassador to Ireland Larysa Gerasko on the runway.
During a brief address, Zelenskyy thanked the people of Ireland for their support since the beginning of Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine and for accepting a significant number of Ukrainian refugees.
He also said that US President Joe Biden calling him "President Putin" on Thursday was a "mistake" and noted that he could forget it because the United States is very supportive of Ukraine, RTÉ reported.
Zelenskiy and Harris will reportedly discuss the war in Ukraine during their bilateral meeting.
"Harris will reaffirm Ireland's support for Ukraine's aspirations to join the EU and offer assistance to thousands of Ukrainian children forcibly deported to Russia and Belarus after the invasion. He will reaffirm Ireland's membership in an international coalition calling for the return of about 20,000 children," the journalists report.
RTÉ adds that the Irish prime minister will also express his condolences to Zelenskyy over the loss of life during the war, including the attack on the Okhmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv earlier this week.
