During his visit to Kyiv, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin will hold high-level talks with the Ukrainian leadership. The parties will discuss partnership between the countries and military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The discussions will reportedly focus on further strengthening the strategic partnership between the United States and Ukraine.
The talks will also include providing the Ukrainian army with the necessary combat capabilities, both for the winter period and to protect their country from future Russian threats.
The Pentagon also notes that during the visit, Austin will emphasize the US commitment to providing Ukraine with the security assistance it needs to defend itself against Russian aggression, and will discuss a long-term vision for the future of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Later this week, Austin will host the 17th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group virtually from the Pentagon. The meeting is expected to be attended by representatives of about 50 countries.
As a reminder, Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin has arrived in Ukraine on a visit. He is in Kyiv today, November 20.
The US Secretary of Defense posted a photo from the capital's railway station on Twitter. He was met in Kyiv by US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink.
