Advance of Russians west of Avdiivka accelerated - UK intelligence

The advance of Russian troops west of Avdiivka in Donetsk region has accelerated over the past week.
This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defense on X (Twitter).
According to the report, Russian ground troops have created a narrow ledge further into Ukraine to enter the town of Ocheretyne, located about 15 km north of the center of Avdiivka.
According to British intelligence, since Russian forces took control of Avdiivka in mid-February 2024, the area has remained one of the main areas of Russian operations.
"Despite sustaining continued high losses, it is highly likely that the Russian ground forces are able to continuously target Ukrainian positions in the area and have taken control of several small settlements," the British Ministry of Defense said.
As a reminder, after the capture of Avdiivka in February 2024, Russian troops have been gradually advancing to the west.
