U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Friday, April 26.

This was reported by NBC News.

The main purpose of Blinken's visit to China was to warn Beijing about the inadmissibility of supporting Russia in the war against Ukraine.

Other issues on the agenda included China's economic and trade practices, which the United States considers unfair, China's aggressive behavior in the South China Sea, stability in the Taiwan Strait, North Korea's nuclear and missile programs, and the war between Israel and Hamas.

Before meeting with Xi, Blinken had five hours of talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, which included a working lunch.

According to the State Department's summary of the talks, Blinken and Wang Yi discussed next steps on a number of commitments that Xi and President Joe Biden made at the California summit in November, including deepening cooperation on counterdrugs, military-to-military communications, negotiating the risks and safety of artificial intelligence, and promoting people-to-people exchanges.
