It's better to spend money on defending Ukraine than rebuild it later

It would be more appropriate for Ukraine's partner countries to increase their defense support for Kyiv to enable the Armed Forces of Ukraine to better withstand large-scale military aggression from Russia, in particular to protect against air strikes on energy facilities and infrastructure, rather than to rebuild them later.

This was stated by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, RBC-Ukraine reports citing RMF 24.

"Ukraine desperately needs anti-aircraft missiles to protect its industry, to protect its power plants, to protect its infrastructure. I believe that it is much better to spend money on the defense of Ukraine than to rebuild it later," the Polish official said.

During his visit to the United States, Sikorski admitted in a conversation with BBC World that it would have been better if the US had approved the bill to help Ukraine earlier. But he also noted that the aid was already coming.

"I think it would be good for Putin to recognize his invasion as a mistake and make a new calculation, given that we will help Ukraine as long as it takes," the Polish Foreign Minister emphasized.

Sikorski also suggested that the European Union could do even more in terms of military assistance to Ukraine.

At the same time, the Polish minister noted that the cost of the EU's overall financial assistance to Ukraine is even higher than that of the United States.

It's a shame that the latest news about aid to Ukraine is just words of support, not actual arms deliveries.
