This was reported by Novinky with reference to Magdalena Dvorakova, a spokeswoman for the Czech Army General Staff, Ukrinform reports.

About 800 U.S. Army soldiers and 350 Czech soldiers will take part in the maneuvers, which will last about 14 days in the Libavske military district.

According to Dvořáková, the main purpose of the event is to test the ability of the Czech Army to comprehensively provide allied units in the Czech Republic in large-scale operations, to support the efforts of the Allies in building defense capabilities within the North Atlantic Alliance by engaging the forces and means of the Czech Army or to increase their ability to participate in the full process of tactical planning in the international environment.

Military equipment from the US Army's warehouses in Germany has been deployed to Libya for the exercise since mid-April. The exercises will last until the penultimate week of May, and the equipment will be removed by early June.

The exercises are part of the largest maneuvers of the US Army in Europe, Steadfast Defender-24, in recent decades. More than 90,000 soldiers from all NATO countries take part in the exercises throughout the year in various locations in Europe.
