National security advisors and senior officials from around the world will meet in Doha, Qatar, this weekend to discuss plans for a peace summit in Ukraine.
Bloomberg was told by informed sources.
According to the agency's interlocutors, the list of participants in the meeting in the Qatari capital has not yet been finalized. They added that Russia has not been invited, and it remains unclear whether China will be present.
Ukraine's allies see China's presence as important to the success of the summit, given the influence they say Beijing has over Moscow.
So far, China has participated in only one meeting, in Saudi Arabia last August. Beijing and several other BRICS countries insist that Russia should be invited to participate in the discussions.
