There are more Russian drones at the front

Apr 26, 2024

Over the past three months, the number of Russian drones on the frontline, including in the hottest spots, has almost doubled. The Russians are modernizing their drones by programming them for specific frequency bands, Ukrainska Pravda reports, citing sources in the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

Enemy drones are now harder to identify and jam using electronic warfare.

"Roughly speaking, we have made electronic warfare systems for the 900 MHz band. It was enough," the media quoted its source as saying. "Now the 'orcs' are making drones with a 700-1000 MHz band. Accordingly, the electronic warfare equipment we made earlier is no longer effective."

Therefore, experts are now working to create a unified system for collecting information about changes in the frequencies of enemy UAVs, the source in the Cabinet of Ministers quoted the media as saying. The goal is to be able to quickly adjust Ukrainian electronic warfare systems to modernized Russian drones.

As a reminder, drones have effectively paralyzed the front line - Ukrainian and Russian troops can no longer move across the battlefield without being detected. Sometimes there can be about a hundred drones in one area, but it is almost impossible to determine whose they are.
