U.S. President Joe Biden said that the first batch of aid to Ukraine under the just-signed supplemental funding law will be sent “in the coming hours.”

He said this at a special briefing on April 24 after signing the legislation.

The US President promised to make sure that the deliveries begin immediately.

“In the next few hours, we will start sending weapons to Ukraine. It will be air defense missiles, artillery shells, ammunition for missile systems, and armored vehicles,” Biden announced.

“This is an investment not only in the security of Ukraine but also in the security of Europe... And it's an investment in our own security because when our allies are stronger, we are also stronger,” the US president emphasized.

He also reminded us that the money to support Ukraine is also an investment in the American defense industry, as it will produce replacements for the weapons that are being transferred to Ukraine.
